Our locally-focused, nourishing cooking classes are available for private groups to reserve their preferred event date and select a crafted menu to please everyone’s palate.

Private classes must meet our minimum of 12 guests at $118 per person, or the equivalent minimum fee if your group is smaller. Our maximum class size is 16 guests for a hands-on cooking experience, and up to 24 guests for demonstration only classes. Price per guests may decrease if you book a group larger than 12.


CHOCOLATE: Sweet + Savory

A hands-on and demonstration cooking class with full meal of savory + sweet recipes featuring Big Island grown cocoa + chocolates.

Cocoa is an ancient healing ingredient that when transformed into Chocolate brings a delectable flavor to not just sweet desserts, it is also a traditional highlight to many protein rich, savory dishes too.  This class will feature a sampling of the phenomenal cocoa and chocolate produced here on the Big Island, followed by an indulgent meal that will nourish the heart + body + soul.

MENU:

  • Mexican Mole Sauce + Black Beans with Queso Fresco cheese & Vegetable Slaw

  • Simmered Pork with Cocoa + Chiles over roasted Uala (purple sweet potatoes) & onions

  • Dark Chocolate Banana Bread

  • This will be a gluten-free meal.

BIG ISLAND GEMS

A hands-on and demonstration cooking class with full meal of savory + sweet recipes featuring Big Island grown produce and free range beef.

Per guest Includes your 3 course meal + recipes + an epic Culinary Experience!

Diverse microclimates on the Big Island allow for a vast spectrum of foods to be grown year round. We will source the most nourishing, in-season ingredients available from our local farms for this delectable menu. Join us for an informative + playful class where guests will have hands-on cooking experience for our first course, and Chef Kristina will provide cooking demonstration for the entree and dessert course.

MENU:

  • Salad of Seasonal Fruits + Vegetables + Greens in Citrus Vinaigrette with Goat Cheese + Macadamia Nuts

  • Braised Big Island Beef + Ulu Mash with Caramelized Onions

  • Fruit Crisp with Macadamia Nut Topping

  • This will be a gluten free meal.

AVOCADOS Galore!

A hands-on and demonstration cooking class with full meal, featuring a diverse selection of Big Island avocados.

Per guest Includes your 3 course meal + recipes + an epic Culinary Experience!

A plethora of avocado varieties thrive here on the Big Island, many are in prime season right now and the perfect healthful feature to any meal. Class participants will have a hands-on culinary experience to learn knife skills as they slice & dice avocados and seasonal vegetables + fruits to create their salad course. Chef Kristina will provide cooking demonstration for the entree and dessert course.

MENU:

  • Avocado Salad + Seasonal Fruit with Local Mixed Greens in Herb Citrus Vinaigrette

  • Local Fresh Catch Fish + Whipped Avocado Sauce, accompanied by Wild Rice Blend & Sauteed Veggies.

  • Avocado + Chocolate Mousse

  • This will be a gluten-free & dairy-free meal

Here is where we are located!

Pu’uwai Gardens is the home kitchen of HeartBeet Catering; located on Waipio Rd, just west of Honoka’a town center on the North coast of the Big Island, Hawai’i.

We host our classes and events in the covered, outdoor patio adjacent to our kitchen. Stunning views of the Ocean are our backdrop at this secluded, tropical orchard. A unique location as the perfect match for our unique Culinary Experiences!
